The 1st annual San Diego County Public Defender Community Outreach Charity Golf Tournament will benefit the foster students of San Pasqual Academy. This four-person team best-ball scramble tournament will be held on Wednesday, March 31, at the Riverwalk Golf Club in Mission Valley. The entry fee is $135 per player and includes lunch, post-tournament dinner, an awards ceremony and silent and live auction. Tee-off time is noon. There will be opportunities to win prizes on the par 3 holes, which includes a car and cash. If you would like to attend the dinner only, dinner tickets can be purchased for $75 per person.
"We are honored to be the designated charity for this tournament", states Friends of San Pasqual Academy board member Teri Summerhays. "Friends of San Pasqual Academy has direct impact on the lives of the 150 foster teens who live at San Pasqual Academy. Right now, we are planning for prom, a sports banquet, graduation and college scholarships for our graduates. We are in our eighth year in supporting these deserving students and remain committed to enriching their lives."
Friends of San Pasqual Academy Board member Kathy Lathrum states" We appreciate the efforts of many individuals that will support this tournament. The proceeds will assist Friends of San Pasqual Academy in their efforts to provide positive experiences and opportunities to the foster students. We treat these kids like we treat our own. That is the reason proms, sports banquets and graduations are part of our efforts. So many of our kids are applying and getting into colleges. It is through the donations of many dedicated supporters and volunteers that this dream is possible. We hope many attend this fun golf tournament and dinner that will generate funds for our foster teens."
